Raymond Dehn

Raymond Dehn

Prior to joining the WAAC Board, Ray served in the Minnesota House of Representative from 2013-2021. While in the Legislature he authored many pieces of legislation that attempted to right many of the wrongs of the current justice system, including Ban the Box, which allows those with criminal records to not mark a box on an original job application. Shortly after Ray left the Legislature, Minnesota finally passed Restore the Vote allowing those with felony convictions to vote immediately upon release. Ray currently works at the City of Minneapolis where he uses his Architecture degree overseeing a $50 million-dollar interior revisioning of the Historic Minneapolis City Hall. Beyond his day job and his justice advocacy work, Ray also coaches high school wrestling at Minneapolis North Community High School and has been a resident of North Minneapolis for the past 25 years. Like many, Ray is a justice impacted individual.
