August-September 2023: Sidewalk Gallery and Art Salon at the Hennepin

Have you seen our exhibit at the Sidewalk Gallery at the corner of 8th and Hennepin in downtown Minneapolis yet? Check it out—and join WAAC, Hennepin Theatre Trust, and Minnesota Prison Writing Workshop at The Hennepin, 900 Hennepin Ave., in Minneapolis on Thursday, August 17 at 6:00 pm for a free and public Art Salon, where, among other things, we’ll talk about the exhibit. The event will feature musical performances, Q&A’s with exhibiting artists and activists—including conversation with Nadine Graves and Antonio Williams—and an art making session led by the Hennepin Theatre Trust. Light beverages and a cash bar will be available.

Can’t make it on the 17th? The WAAC/MPWW exhibit will be on display through September 3rd. The exhibit, a collaboration between the Minnesota Prison Writing Workshop and We Are All Criminals, in partnership with Until We Are All Free, The Re-Enfranchised Coalition, TONE UP, The Wrongfully Incarcerated and Over-Sentenced Families Council, 1 Day at a Time, All Square, and The Waiting Room with Nadine Graves celebrates the people, inside and out, who—through art, innovation, and activism—are changing the landscape of the nation’s criminal legal system.
